Angel Figueroa I'm a late comer, but the 2012 "Tumbleweeds" has such special meaning for me, having only first heard it just last year. Now enjoying 2600 with all the depth and details of the master craft that it is. Favorite track: Uncanny Valley.

Soul Strings I do not know what the music of our future will sound like. Maybe it'll sound like this? I do not know what the future holds. But maybe this man does?.. Favorite track: Heliopause.

about

All tracks recorded using only a Kenneth Lawrence 11-string bass and pedalboard.

No drums/drum machines.
No keyboards/synths.
No vocals.
No sound fx/samples.
No plug-ins (besides compression during mastering).

Having recorded my previous two solo “bass” albums with a strict set of boundaries (no overdubs or edits), I wanted to try something different for my third album.

I’ve always been fascinated with effect pedals; especially those that completely changed the way my instrument sounded. For this album, I thought I’d have fun and experiment. Armed with only my 11-string bass and a massive pedalboard, I’ve attempted to make a bass/guitar solo album that sounds nothing like a bass or a guitar (most of the time).

The end result, I feel, falls somewhere between a sci-fi movie score and a 8-bit video game soundtrack. I hope you dig it as much as I enjoyed making it.
